Lianne Stoltenborg-Apeldoorn on working with Woldring Verhuur

Last October 8, the agenda included the opening of Mamamini's new location, as the nonprofit organization recently became a proud tenant of Woldring Verhuur. According to Strategic Manager Lianne Stoltenborg-Apeldoorn of Mamamini felt this was more than a logical choice: "We now appeal to a wider audience."

After clothing store Fiftysix vacated the premises at 19 Oosterstraat, Woldring Verhuur was looking for a new business to set up shop here. According to Lianne, this opportunity came at the right time. She explains, "We had been dreaming about a downtown location for some time. A while back, we almost moved to another downtown location, but it fell through at the last minute. Very unfortunate. It did cause us to be extremely stimulated and driven to continue our search. Then this opportunity presented itself and we wanted to move on immediately."

A property full of history and new possibilities

For Woldring Verhuur, this national monument has a far-reaching historical valueAfter all, it was at this address where "Woldring Porselein" once began realizing student housing in Groningen. This space also offers new opportunities for Mamamini's clothing boutique for the future. "At our previous location, people mainly came to store specifically we notice now. People came to the city especially for us. Now these people still come, but also other customers know how to find our store. The day trippers who walk through the Oosterstraat and spontaneously walk into our shop, I mean. We now appeal to a wider audience. This is partly because of the amount of other second-hand clothing stores in this street, but mainly because it is a great looking building at an A-location in the city center. It is a billboard for the good work we do."

Working together for a bright future

By good work, she refers to all the charities Mamamini supports with the proceeds from the sale of second-hand goods. Every year, Mamamini donates most of its profits to various foundations around Groningen. ("Within a radius of 25 kilometers around the Martini tower.") This move should ensure that there is more money to distribute on the bottom line. For now, the organization is happy with the move. "We have super fine contact with Woldring," manager Stoltenborg-Apeldoorn says in conclusion. "If there is something wrong, we can always call and it is solved in no time. Moreover, we see that the premises have always been well maintained and together we could make something beautiful out of it. The first reactions from our customers are very positive. This has been a fantastic investment for us!"
